During Eric's tenure in the retail industry with Walmart Stores Inc. he used his voice skills by making PAs for both the departments he worked in and other areas of the store.  The store where he worked in the 80s had a spot recorder which allowed Eric to record up to 30 ads that would be played frequently throughout the day.  (Samples of some of these ads can be found in "Fun Stuff.")  Eric used a straightforward business approach and humor, as well as some character voices.  A video he and his son Jonathon produced in 1998 was selected as the regional winner in a company contest.

Eric received his AA in Journalism at a community college and later a BA in English and communication from the University of Illinois in Springfield.  He also completed the Voices For All Master Class training.
